Asteri huffed as she carried a backpack stuffed with clothes to Belme’s and Gale’s apartment. She hadn’t visited the apartment after the events of cosplay dressing with Gale, and then the events that transpired on the beach. ...Asteri flushed even thinking about the mention of those events. Why she hadn’t visited the apartment the day after they came home, she had no idea why. Belmes and Gale were fun. LOTS of fun.
Asteri shook her head, and began lugging her bags down the long hallway trip to the apartment- okay, the trip was relatively short, but carrying that backpack, satchel, and suitcase that was carrying two other bags filled with all sorts of stuff made it feel like a million pounds! But she managed to make it through, though she struggled with the keys for a bit. After fumbling them out of a pocket, Asteri fitted it into the keyhole, and opened the door.
The apartment was empty. Like, there was no furniture there. No drapes. None of the paintings, displays, books, or anything else that made it seem like home. Asteri’s ears and tails drooped, and she just made a shocked sound: “Huh?”
There was a soft bump in the bedroom before Heinrich came walking out of said room with a small box in hands. “Oh hey Asteri, I was just about to call you. I figured that with three of us, this place was gonna be rather small for that many people. So uh, I kinda got us a new house.”, he said with a surprised smile as he hadn’t been expecting to see her arrive during the move.
“If you want to come with me, I figured I’d get everything moved over before Gale came home from her trip to her home she went on for a couple days as a surprise for you both. Though it looks like you caught me red handed.” He chuckled a little nervously in good fun now that she was in on the surprise itself.
“Oh!” At that, Asteri dropped her backpack and promptly hugged Belmes for a moment, nuzzling him for a solid second, before letting go. “Well, how in the nine hells were you intending to surprise us!? Just, let us walk into an empty apartment? ...How did you even get a house within, like, what? Five days? Where is this place? It’s not in the city, is it- they don’t have houses. How did you take care of all the moving in here by yourself? How did you do it without me noti…”
Asteri’s tirade of questions trailed off as she looked around, a dreadful thought occurring to her. “Uh. I guess that means I have to lug all of my stuff down Loki knows how many floors.” She held up a finger to forestall Belmes’ comment. “And yes, I know there’s an elevator, but imagine doing this trip TWENT- er, THIRTY times?” At that, Asteri pouted. “Do we at least have a bell hopper?” Asteri was not looking forward to having to lug all that stuff down. Not at all.
He looked a little surprised at the sudden barrage, before coming to a clear enough thought to answer her. “I had some help yesterday, forgot one thing though, so I came to get it. Also I can just carry those if it’s that heavy for ya.”, he answered after setting aside the box and hugged her back closely. “I was going to call and have you meet me at the park for a hangout, then mention a surprise then drive you there. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting you to move in until tomorrow since you were still getting your residency paperwork handled.”
Not even fully letting go of her, he helped slip the backpack and satchel off, before slipping them on to carry himself. With one more squeeze, Heinrich then picked his box up once again, “So let’s make this one trip, and I can take you there for a tour.”
Asteri practically nodded her head off with how energetically she nodded. “That would be wonderful, Belmes! You’re helping me out a ton, you know! I really couldn’t have done it all by myself!” Perhaps the praise was a bit too thick. ...Nah. “I’ll even see about trying to reward you for being this nice!” Asteri practically wagged her tails as she leaned against Heinrich. “So, where’s this house at? How big is it?” Asteri tilted her head at the slightly taller man. “I’m sure we can surprise Gale. It’s just that we can’t make it too obvious with her, since she probably knows everywhere that isn’t Obsidian City.”
As Asteri chatted away, the two of them made their way down the hall and to the elevator, whereupon the door opened to reveal a somewhat crowded elevator. Three people. One man in a business suit, and another two that looked like they themselves were a couple.
Heinrich stepped in, keeping Asteri close as they did, trying to fit in their own corner of the space available. The prince didn’t say anything, not wanting to start more on the gossip train then he already had at this point. The business man was first off after they got going, Heinrich not so sure when the couple were getting off. Hopefully they were on their way out like them, doing whatever it was they had plans for that evening.
“I’m sure we can, and it’s somewhat under her nose. As far as I’m aware, she hasn’t really been around the green zone outside the city.” He leaned in close next to her ear before saying further, “It’s three floors, and 70 acres, with plenty of room for a whole clan if need be. I want to make sure we are all really comfortable with plenty of room.”
Asteri’s ears flicked a bit as she shivered somewhat. She whispered back somewhat furtively, “N-no fair. You know my ears are sensitive!” She playfully swatted him on the chest, before she got more serious. “You seriously went that big? How on Ydd- yeah. Right.” She lowered her voice to a whisper again. “Archduke and all that.” She smiled cheekily at him at that comment, before the elevator began to slow down.
As Asteri glanced at the floor number, the elevator stopped and the door opened, before the couple finally exited the elevator, the two whispering to each other rather excitedly. But soon enough the elevator door closed again, and began descending again. Asteri promptly spun around and squeezed herself against Heinrich, chest squishing against his torso.
“So, how long of a drive is it away from here? Or do we take the LRT, or monorail? D’you think we can stop by Keanu’s Bakery? I love their scones and muffins!” Asteri smiled on cheerily, before continuing on. “I got a thing called a hackey-sack.” Asteri pulled out a small bean bag from her pocket. “I dunno if you know much about it, but back in Andraeste, we would kick this to each other in a circle. While there were different ways to play it, the most common way we would play this is after enough kicks, we were allowed to slap it with our hands. The goal is to hit someone else when you do that!”
“Well it’s pretty common as far as simple entertainment goes. Also we’re driving, and it will take 20 minutes to get there. A bit longer in the slower moving truck I have out front." Heinrich was already smiling as a hand took the devious opportunity to pat Asteri's head, and rib between the ears. The prince knew pretty well that those ears were, and that pats were like slooty addiction.
Chuckling as they started to disembark, then make their way out into the parking lot. "We can maybe get something along the way, as some pastries would be nice for house warming.", He added as he led her towards the truck.
Asteri would have pouted at the headpat. If she wasn’t busy leaning more into Heinrich in order to have it done in a heavier fashion. Headpats were heavenly, especially when they rubbed against those bits where her ears met her head. Thankfully, or maybe not, the headpat wasn’t that sensual. Belmes was doing the kind of headpat that just felt good- a bit lighter, and he would have Asteri panting red faced.
Eventually, though, the delightful feeling had to end as the two separated in order to get on the opposite sides of the truck, with Heinrich depositing the last of his things, as well as Asteri’s, in the truck. When he entered the truck, Asteri smiled at him, as she closed the door to her side. “So, Belmes? I know you just finished grading midterms like, a week ago. How long of a break do you have left before you have to get back to teaching? Because, well, moving right now seems like it’d be a lot of trouble if you’re also having to teach at Obsidian University.”
Asteri was also handling a medium sized package she nabbed from the front of her door; she had stuffed it into her suitcase, and had taken it out before Heinrich had put the suitcase in the back. Catching Heinrich’s puzzled glance, she shrugged at him, saying, “I dunno what it is, but it’s from daddy. I honestly wonder what he’s sent me. It’s very light for its size…”
Heinrich eyed the box weirdly, remembering all the trouble they had gone through back in Andraeste. “Are you sure it’s from him? Because anyone can mail a package addressed as someone else, I just want you to be careful after all that happened when we met. Someone is after you, or was, but until sure otherwise I’d consider it possible.”
He wasn’t going to tell her no in opening her own mail, but he wanted her to be aware and be cautious just in case. As Heinrich started the truck, he didn’t really bother to let them sit there, and instead opted to get them going while it came up. “I just don’t want to see you hurt, and I want to keep the promise I made to your dad.”
Asteri chuckled, slightly darkly. “I don’t think you need to worry. Eius’ mansion had been blown up very shortly after we left by those Iron Company folks. They found his dead body inside a safe room.” After that, she brightened up considerably. “And besides! Daddy sent me a message as well asking if I got his gift in the mail. I asked him what it was, but he really didn’t elaborate much on it, saying I should make sure to check everything in it.”
Asteri handled the box a bit lightly. “But if you’re still worried, I can wait until we make it to the house?” No need to make Belmes worry any more than he already did. Deciding preemptively, she set the box down below the dashboard. She then went ahead and crossed her feet on the dashboard, as she idly began looking outside, looking at all the buildings zooming by. Eventually, though, she turned her head back around to look at Heinrich. “So, what classes are you going to teach this semester at the university?” She knew, as a professor, Heinrich’s class schedule was fairly set, but it didn’t hurt to ask to make sure whether or not he was forced to add a new class, or maybe drop one.
Very shortly after Asteri asked her question, however, something caught her eye: “Oooooh! Jaimon’s Ice Cream Parlor!?”
Heinrich shook his head with a smile, as Asteri was being typical Asteri, making him question if just a bit of squirrel had been slipped into those genes. He pulled the truck off the main road, and into the drive through for the ice cream place, “History this semester actually, as someone has to pass on our history to the youngins.”
“Yessssssssss! Thaaank you!” At that, she reached over and promptly kissed Belmes on the cheek. She then continued to jabber on, “Make it caramel, please? I know you probably don’t want this car to get sticky, so if possible, make it a milkshake? Does this truck have a cupholder?” After looking around furtively, she found none. But she shrugged, and continued on. “Anyways. Who are you to call everyone else young? You’re only two years older than most graduates! Unless, of course, I’m missing some sort of weird time-skip that you normally see in comics.”
At that, she looked suspiciously at Heinrich. “You AREN’T secretly 20,000 years old, riiight?” Yes, she was holding back a smirk. Though, she didn’t do it well, unfortunately, as she let a giggle escape her.
“No, hahaha, but I am chronologically older than some of those graduates. I was orphaned years ago, when I was 15, but that was back on Haran. My parents died during the last world war, and I was left without any living family.” The prince said, letting that sink in for a moment, not one to usually talk about it. But if they were going to be living together, and maybe more in the future, he figured it best to be open about it.
Clearing his throat a little as they waited in the driveway line, he continued. “My parents had left a fund and a plan that I should be one of those put in cryo, a method to reduce resource drain with all those with less to live for from casualties brought on by the war. It came about very early on, those fighting it, knowing our days were already numbered on Harran.”
Heinrich paused as they reached the order screen, getting them a chocolate peanut butter shake, and a caramel shake. Driving up to the pickup window, he was oddly quiet, taking their order after swiping his wrist to pay. Once they were back on the road, he made sure they were back on the main road towards the bridge, before letting his mind wander back to the topic that he had been explaining.
“The war saw the most casualties in its earliest days. The first ten years were the worst, and that was around the time they passed. The war itself started to this date…. 260 years ago. So doing the math, I am currently in chronological age, roughly 250 years old.”
Asteri blinked for a moment, putting the cup holder below the dashboard and holding it with her feet. Then, she proceeded to lean over and hug Heinrich as well as she could, in such an awkward position. “Be- Heinrich. I’m.. so sorry. It must be terrible, having lost everything to not only a war, but time as well.” At that, Asteri was quiet for a moment, holding her position for a few moments, before letting go and smiling at him. “But hey. You have me and Gale now. You’re not going through this alone, you know that, right?” She leaned again, this time putting her head on his shoulder, ears twitching a bit. “So don’t be afraid to come to us, you hear? We’ll always be there for you.” Asteri then gave a rueful chuckle, continuing on. “I know this sounds a bit cliche, but it doesn’t make it any less true. Plus, you have a great dad who adopted you, just like how dadd- er, Dylon adopted me.” Asteri rubbed her face against his shoulder for a moment. “D’you know any friends who survived the war on Harran? I know they might be old, but, well…”
“I do actually, he’s currently 170 give a few years. We grew up together, and were born at the same time, and apparently he even enlisted after I went on ice. Now the whole family calls him uncle Zeke, as he was a war buddy of my uncle Jack.” The man tapped his chin in thought, still for the life of him, unsure how the numbers worked on Zeke having fought alongside his uncle. “I’m not entirely sure how that works though, especially with age being weird given how long we live on average.”
“Age doesn’t matter right now. If this Zeke is still alive, you have a chance to meet him!” Asteri beamed at Heinrich, continuing on with, “And while you may not be able to see all of your friends, you still at least have one.” At that, Asteri gave one more vigorous rub against Heinrich, before peeling herself off of him. “Now, let’s not dwell on matters like this when we’re discussing moving into a new house, for Freya’s sake! C’mon, drink your milkshake!”
Asteri held out Heinrich’s milkshake for him to grab, but right before he could grab it, she snaked it away from him, before leaning against the armrest console, chest extended, before placing the milkshake firmly between her cleavage. “Don’t be shy~!” There was a hint of concern in her eyes, though she tried hiding it.
He gave a surprised look at what she had just done, but he wasn’t one to look a gift horse in the mouth, as it brought a smile to his face. Setting course and letting his geist auto drive the vehicle, Heinrich leaned over a bit, “I actually see him at every family reunion, and get together. That being said, I still very much appreciate the effort to cheer me up.”
Not breaking eye contact with her, he leaned down more, and took a long drink of the cold shake, before swallowing. What he did next might have been unexpected though, as he placed a hand on her cheek, and kissed her on the lips. “You’re very sweet, and quite lovable, all the more reason I don’t want to see anyone ever hurt you. Dylon may have asked me to look after you, but I think I have a reason of my own now to do so.”
Asteri giggled at his statement, replying, “Awwww. Stop being so cute.” Asteri leaned up and kissed him again, before she took out the milkshake with an audible pop, grinning a bit cheekily. “Now, here you go. I would love to stay in this position all through the trip, and I could very well fit in my milkshake as well, but it’s cold!” After sitting back up in her chair, Asteri took a few sips of her milkshake, before asking Heinrich, “So, when’s the next family reunion?”
The landscape around the car had changed abruptly from bustling city to a wide open lake, as the truck finally broke through the metropolitan atmosphere, and onto the great bridge that connected Obsidian City to the rest of Sirris II. Asteri took a moment to plaster her face against the car window, oohing over the scene, but she forced herself off of it and returned to face Heinrich expectantly.
“Next month actually, though it’s not like we can’t visit any time. Other than Nora and her father, everyone in the family lives here in the city.” Heinrich said with a chuckle, mind somewhat distracted by the lingering touch and taste of her lips. He hadn’t kissed anyone but Gale so far, and it was a different feeling, but uniquely similar. “Also the ocean is quite nice right now still, gonna have to have a family beach trip again soon. This world is paradise I swear.”, he said with a very thoughtful smile.
The bridge was rather impressively long, one of the many testaments of how the NDC had learned to build things to withstand much greater stresses than conventional building methods. It was more impressive in his mind though, coming over it into the city, and not the other way around. The looming black wall of starship armor that surrounded the outside of the city, making it a bastion of safety against what used to be such a hostile world. The scale was easily forgotten within, but to drive from the mainland all the way to it’s gates, the armor reaching far up to the sky numerous kilometers above.
It was rather breathtaking, and made one feel rather small from the difference of scale, always reminding Heinrich in some philosophical way that they were always a small part of something greater.
“Yeeeep~! This world IS very nice! I sure had a fun time at the beach!” Asteri giggled at that. “I bet the house will be a lot closer to the beach. I bet we’ll even have our own personal beach, with a dock for a boat and all that!” Asteri’s eyes were shining as she continued. “And then in those shows, where they have all these cool things like a giant slide that lets them slide into the water, a swing, a zipline… And then the house itself will have all sorts of cool stuff like a walk-in designer room, a giant greenhouse, and even- and even a warehouse sized pantry!” Asteri practically drooled at that.
...And yes, Asteri did have an imagination.
She paused however, her feet hitting against the box. “But when we get there, I can open the box without you worrying to death, riight?” She flashed him a teasing smile at that.
“Hmmmmm, I dunno, I may need a hug to feel calm. All teasing aside though, yeah, enjoy your gift from your father. Gifts from family should always be treasured.” He said with a chuckling giggle, listening to her list off so many fantastical features to their home. Heinrich found it all the more endearing, as much as it was entertaining, “Nothing quite that grand sadly. But I don’t want to spoil the surprise, as there will be plenty of rooms to visit.”
The bridge gave way to land, the huge trees passing by close beside the road, as the vehicle carried them ever more onto shore. After a short bit, Heinrich turned off on a side road, which they would travel down for a few, then finally onto a dirt road.
Asteri’s enthusiasm turned a bit skeptical as they turned onto a dirt road. “A-are you sure the house is in decent condition?” The house Heinrich was describing surely had to have some sort of road that was at least paved, right?
Heinrich wasn’t going to take her to some sort of ruined house, right?
Right?
“Of course it is. I didn’t buy used, I had it custom built to specification. Don’t let the road fool you, I just had it built to a homey rustic aesthetic is all, a place that will feel like a generational home.” He had a reassuring grin, already loving the unsuspecting look on her face. Her doubt would be replaced by wonder, he was confident at that, and he wanted nothing more than to blow her mind at their new home.
“Okaay…” Asteri settled back into the seat, elbow on the car door handle, looking idly outside. “It’s very woodsy. Do we have anyone else living near us?”
Her face changed as they rounded a corner, though. “Oh, wow. Belmes…”
The house was indeed fitting with that woodsy theme that Asteri has so kindly voiced, the structure three floors high, and looking like some modest yet grand estate. Despite the fact it was of a log cabin design and construction, with numerous windows, touches of stone on the lowest floor and lots of wood. There were even tall iron oil lanterns lining either side of the drive for the last third of its length, that used magic to create, and fuel their flames. They gave off a warm glow, even as those inside began to light as well, Heinrich giving the signal as the first lamps were lit. “Sooooo, it may not be some palace, but it will definitely be our own kingdom getaway of sorts.”
Asteri got out of the car in a daze. Though, as soon as Heinrich also got out and moved next to Asteri, she tackled him to the ground in a gargantuan hug. “Beeeeellllllmmmmmeeeesss! IloveitIloveitIloveit! Eeeeeeeee~!” After she finished nuzzling him for a solid five minutes, she finally got up, offering a hand as she did so.
When they were up, Asteri laughed, and promptly ran towards the front entrance of the estate, her skirt jumping up and down as she skipped the last few steps towards the grand double doors that graced the building, leaping over the small step that ascended towards the house’s door. She tried to open the door…
...And was promptly stopped due to the fact that it was locked.
“Hey Starshine, forgetting this silly.”, Heinrich chuckled as he walked up, tossing her a biometric key rod. It was a small hexagonal piece of crystal built into a key style grip base, and emanated a faint glow when either he, or her held it. “It’s set to all four of us.”
Joining her beside the door, he gestured in mock grandeur, for her to use the key. He wanted one of them to be first to enter the finished house afterall. The surprise was theirs to enjoy, he had only arranged construction and design of the place.
Asteri felt her breath be whisked away a second time. Wow. Belmes had this whole surprising her thing down to a science. But, well, she couldn’t help but be surprised.
The entrance room was a grand interior, that was an open space, connecting the entrance, the living room, and the kitchen all in a large room. Off to the side in a small extension stood the dining room with tables, chairs, and all that wonderful fancy stuff. The room itself was overlooked by a balcony, where more doors led to what Asteri presumed were studies or bedrooms, where a set of stairs nooked in another little extension led up to. Here and there there were doors leading to other areas. In one little door, where stairs led down to a depressed area, Asteri swore she could even see a.. Hot tub!? Spa!? Hotspring!? Asteri began promptly looking around the place, jumping over a couch in her excitement to see everything the house had to offer.
“That’s an indoor hot spring, the house was built on it, and feeds from it for the water source to the whole house. This house can comfortably support up to ten people if we needed to, with enough room for everyone to have a study even of their own.” He explained, before telling her more of what the estate had to offer, and what the layout was like. She practically looked like a kid in a candy shop, still going on even as he entered the large and spacious kitchen. Placing their shakes in the freezer for now, he walked her to the other areas.
“....This floor has the largest bathroom, a communal style one with a large tub, enclosed toilet, several sinks, and rinsing faucets for after baths. Also it has a large walk-in shower, big enough for 5 people at once. The upper floors are just as nice, with different styles for each, and smaller sized for each floor upwards.”
“Oooh! Lots of-” At that, she leaned forward towards Belmes, and practically purred, “-Fun.” But then, while leaning forward, she saw what just outside entailed. “W-wait... Is that-!?” She nearly toppled over in her excitement as she rushed outside to see… a walled off area, filled with pots, with a glass roof providing a dome above the plant area, with what obviously looked like a force field filling in the rest, making it seem as if it was an open walk in with a back-wall of ancient stone, while preserving a greenhouse’s effects.
That, Asteri wasn’t quite so familiar with, Andraeste being so abundant with whatever was planted in it, she never had the need to have a greenhouse. But all she knew was, after college, she found out that lots of spells actually required some sort of knowledge or substitute that a plant-based compound could provide. And that purely scholarly pursuit turned into a hobby as Asteri found that she loved growing plants.
Let’s specify. Plants. Not Gardens. PLANTS.
Regardless, the greenhouse was the real deal. Asteri giggled as she looked around it, and saw so many possibilities with it. Though, looking back, she saw that she had just ran past a rather intricately patterned stone square, with chairs and a fire in the center of it. Asteri flounced back, sitting on the chair, beaming at Heinrich. “I love it! Did you seriously commission a greenhouse just for me!?”
He took a chair beside her, sitting down as he took in the verdant woodland air, the forest around them alive with sound. “Well given we have two healers, a botanical garden with an added greenhouse setup, seemed invaluable for you both to have materials. But I know you would get a lot of use out of it specifically.” Heinrich almost contemplated walking over to share yet another kiss, he really liked the last one, and he really liked it.
But he kept the urge in check for now, and smiled warmly at her, enjoying the company and fresh air. It was like they had gone to some fairy fantasy land, some grand manor out of one of the fairytales of old, that he remembered reading hopefully as a child. “This is our home, in a far off place, and a special one at that. I wanted it to be the best for everyone, and be someplace we all loved to call home.”
“Well, I already love it! ...Except for the dirt road. But that’s it!” Asteri was beaming from- well, cheek to cheek? She didn’t have ears like Belmes, so saying from ear to ear would be really weird… But she plowed on despite this rather interesting philosophical questions. “And I’m sure Gale would love i-”
Wait. TWO healers?
“...Gale’s magic is fire. She can’t be Life as well, right? ...Are you in the school of Life? Are you Botanical or Vita?” Asteri was a bit confused for a moment, her face scrunching up in puzzlement.
“Gravita actually, Sute is our resident doctor, a bond mate of Gale’s.”, Heinrich replied casually, simply giving his answer as if she had asked for the weather today. His smile never left as he stood and came over, “There’s still a lot more to see, and an important question for when we get to the end of the tour.”
“Bond mate..? You mean Gale has fun with someone else…? And she never invited me!?” Asteri pouted a bit, until Heinrich assured her that there was more to see. To which Asteri brightened up considerably. “Well, then!? Let’s get a-move on!” At that, she began skipping along as she returned to the house, popping back a moment later with milkshake in hand as she looked at Heinrich.
“C’mooon! We gotta do lots of stuff now! We gotta take the tour, you gotta tell me what this question is, then we gotta open my gift from daddy, and then we gotta unpa- oh!” Asteri placed a hand on her chest, brow furrowed for a moment. Then, she burped.
“Whoops. Must’ve been drinking too- Hicc - fast. Hicc.” Asteri shook herself, jiggling this way and that, frowning for a moment. After a couple of moments, her face returned to a smile. “Gone!” Asteri shook herself again, seemingly checking again, before she started humming in her beautiful voice and skipped off again.
Heinrich wasn’t going to question it, taking her hand as they started to walk through the rest of the house together. First he led her to the library and lounge that was also on the first floor, which was a collection of book shelves, and game tables. Pool tables, and even a jukebox was present as well.
Next, he led her to the next floor up which had their studies, each one personalized for each of them. Also on that floor were extra rooms, as well as another bathroom, although somewhat smaller for maybe three at once. A secondary library and reading room combo were also on this floor, which was no surprise as Heinrich liked his books with his background as a professor.
Asteri made sure to peek her head inside each different study. Gale’s, she could figure out easily enough. Hers, she could also find easily enough. Though, she would have to put her own finishing touches on it, such as putting various pots, different plushies, card holders, some books, etcetera… Asteri shook her head, and looked at the third study, presumably this Sute’s. She looked up and down, before popping back out. And then there was Heinrich’s study as well, full of the typical books, an astrolabe- though not as fancy as Asteri’s own solar system model!- with a view looking out onto the road leading away from the mansion.
The game room had her excited. “Oooh! A pool table! Is that a ping-pong table as well!” During their little tour of the room, Asteri heaved herself onto the pool table edge, pool stick in hand, and giggled a bit at Heinrich. “I wonder what sort of bets we can make around this table.” She was quickly distracted by the jukebox, as she jumped off the pool table and rushed over to the jukebox and singing out, “We can do karaaaoookeee~!” She performed her most dramatic idol pose, swinging her hips this way and that, bumping into Heinrich, before she burst out laughing.
The bathrooms also earned her mark of approval, as she poked her head this way and that around the bathroom. The main thing Asteri seemed to enjoy, however, was the balcony overlooking the main living room on the first floor. After poking through everything, as much as she could reasonably, she dashed into Heinrich’s study, grabbed a piece of paper from the printer, and promptly made a paper airplane, before throwing it off of the balcony. She giggled a bit at that, explaining to Heinrich: “We can just throw notes at each other if we’re on different floors now!”
Asteri finally stopped at the bottom of a spiral staircase, looking back at Heinrich. “So, the third floor. Is there anything to expect? I didn’t see any bedrooms, so I guessed you saved the comfiest for last!” Asteri beamed at Heinrich. Yes, the foxgirl was indeed in a candy shop, based on the way she oohed and ahhed over everything so far.
“That floor is the second living room which is smaller and cozy for us, a smaller more nicely designed bathroom for us, and the master bedroom. So that brings me to my question, which I think I know the answer to, but I rather not assume.” Heinrich looked her in the eyes, taking in those still lingering glimmers of wonder and excitement, and for a moment he could have gotten lost in them. But he had a very important question, one that would reflect on their relationship as a group. He cleared his throat and as casually as possible asked, “Are you okay with sharing a bedroom and bed together, all of us if that is what they so choose as well? Even if not, I would still like to ask if you and Gale would, even if a bit early seeming of a question.”
Asteri blinked at Heinrich’s suggestion, before she took on a very pensive look. “Well, now, we shall have to see about that, shall we?” She grabbed Heinrich’s hand, leading him up the stairs in a rather determined fashion. However, she stopped as soon as she saw the third floor, and turned around to face Heinrich.
“Well, Belmes. It seems as if you passed the first test. This room is very well designed. I love the view, I like the hominess of the small living room, and the bathroom….” At that, she poked her head in the bathroom, tails swishing. “...The bathroom is just fine. I’m sure it’ll fit all of us.”
Asteri’s face became very severe. “However, we now have to do the SECOND test…” She grabbed Belme’s arm, and led him to the bed, before forcing him to sit down on it. She eventually joined him, bouncing on the bed as she sat on it. “Hmmm… Yeah, this bed seems comfortable enough….” After a couple more experimental bounces, Asteri lay down on the bed, hair, which had grown out over the past two months, flung out behind her. “And it certainly feels good to lie on..”
A moment later, and she sat back up and looked at Belmes. “My rating is…” Her serious expression broke into a giggle as she leaned in and kissed the idiot very forcefully. Belmes was actually very cute when he was worried. She only broke off the kiss to giggle her answer to him: “Of course it’s fine with me, if you’re fine with the fact I don’t like wearing clothes under a cover.”
Seeing his slightly dazed look at that, she giggled. “Y’see, I can get hot with an extra layer of clothes piled on top of a blanket AND some rather beautiful-” At that, Asteri flicked her tails- “trio of tails like mine.” At that, she seemed to realize something. And promptly returned to kissing Belmes.
He wasn’t expecting quite as dramatic as this of an answer from her, but thinking back, he felt dumb in should have expected it fully. With a chuckle, he put his arms around her and pulled her down to lay with him for a bit, seeing it as the perfect chance for a perfect wholesome and loving break. “I have no problem with that whatsoever, Gale does the same. I usually just wear some shorts at the most, but I could learn to adopt this trend too.”, he replied in between kisses as he held her close, hands petting her tails, and rubbing her back as they laid.
Asteri moaned a bit at the pampering, before she managed to roll herself on top of Heinrich, giggling all the way as she put her hands on his chest to raise herself up. “Well, then. It’s settled! For me, at least. Now, I dunno how Gale would exactly feel about me being in bed with her, but I have a feeling she’ll be fine with it too!”
Asteri then leaned down to press a bit into Heinrich, kissing him lightly, before jumping off the bed. “Now! We have to move everything in, but before we do that, we have to see what present daddy dearest has gifted me!” She gave a mischievous look at Heinrich as she reached the top of the stairs. “First one to the bottom has an IOU from the loser?” She didn’t even give him a chance to respond as she started sliding down the railing of the spiral staircase.
Pretty sure with her line of work, she’s more than fine with it, he thought to himself even as she jumped off of him. As Heinrich watched her race down the stairs, he simply grinned with a shrug, before just walking to follow after her. “Just don’t trip on the way down, would be a bad first day in the new house if you did!”, he called down to her as she was way ahead of him by now.
Casually going as he did, he met back up with her at the moving truck still parked in the drive, slurping his milkshake gently as he did. It was good, he’d have to add that place to his favorites, almost to the point of being sad that his milkshake was almost gone now. But he couldn’t be sad at all with the new woman to love in his life, and how much he now knew he loved to kiss her. “Opening it out here, or in the living room?” Heinrich asked simply as she was pulling it out of the truck cab.
“Why not the living room! This will be the first box that will be opened in the house!” At that, Asteri zipped off back towards the house, stopping for a moment as if realizing something. She skipped back to Heinrich and grinned at him, hooking an elbow around his. “I suppose I better put up with you being a slowpoke.” She poked her tongue out at him.
After they made it inside, Asteri placed the box down on the table, and waited for Heinrich to sit down next to her. Then she began tearing the box open.
...Which revealed, after peeling away layers of wrapping and cushioning, another, smaller box. Asteri’s brow furrowed a bit as it revealed itself. “Huh?” Repeat the unboxing and unwrapping process again, and this time she was met with a sealed envelope package, to which Asteri let out a slightly irritated growl.
“Okay, why is this wrapped up so many times?” After tearing off the top, yet more stuffing and wrapping poured out of the now-exposed interior, which showed… Another box. But this time, this had a letter in it as well, judging by the envelope. But at this point, Asteri just flung the piece of paper away in irritation as she set about trying to open this small box.
When this nuisance was finally breached, it revealed a small lens that was placed inside a carefully made inset. Asteri’s initial annoyance was gone, as she gingerly picked up the tiny item. Upon first touching it, she was surprised to feel that it was a crystal.
The crystal lens itself was a beauty of a thing, with the edges being a sea-blue color, with the occasional greener swirls. But as it approached the center, the color changed rapidly from the sea to a pastel-white. But what was more, Asteri could smell the remaining ozone- this crystal was obviously exposed to either a lot of lightning, or mana. ...Which could only mean, considering it was a crystal…
“Dad got me a mana-crystal lens? B-but, how?”
Asteri clutched the lens close to her chest in surprise.
Heinrich got up from the couch and retrieved the paper that had been flung, “It looks like a letter.” he simply stated as he handed it over. After she would take it, he’d retake his seat, gently leaning on the kitsune. Not really to read, but just to be close, as he smiled infectiously as she did so from her gift.
“That’s definitely not a cheap component to come by, especially with as high quality as that one is. He must have sourced from a top notch company to get it.”, the prince offered in observation as he recognised the crystal lens for what it was.
Asteri nodded a bit, keeping the mana lens clutched close to her chest as she tore open the letter with a hand, and clumsily took out the letter. As she was doing so, another slip fell out, and Asteri furrowed her brow. Her occupied hand managed to snatch up the slip of paper, and Asteri brought it up to look at it, before spluttering, pressing her hand into her chest. “T-Two thousand and one hundred Script!? What in all the nine Realms was dad- How did he get this sort of money!?” She fumbled with the paper in her hand, dropping the check onto the table, before moving it around and reading it aloud for Belme’s sake.
Dear Asteri,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. Cliche and old fashioned of me to send a letter, I know. But, I wanted to at least explain as to why and how I managed to get this stuff before you had a heart attack from surprise. Calm down, my Refr.
First off, I just want to let you know your mother also wanted to wish you well; I know she sends you messages daily, just like me, but don’t fault an old couple for wanting to send their love.
Let me first explain the check. Put simply, I want you to attend Obsidian University, expand your knowledge in Vita. Yes, I know Andraeste’s college had cutting edge tech and research in the Life department, but they focused on the RESEARCH aspect. I assume that, if you’re staying with an Archduke who seems hellbent on getting himself involved with investigations at the very least, that you’re probably going to be taking a much more practical and field role in Vita. Obsidian University should help provide for that.
I managed to get this primarily thanks to my new role as an ISD agent has benefits, though I only get my bonus by bringing in the criminals. And Eius was a rich catch, indeed. Also, Aodh managed to pitch in with some of his funds as a Jaeger, though we demanded that he keep it for his medical bills, the stubborn boy. Try sending about a hundred Script back his way, could you?
Asteri broke off and giggled at that. “Typical Aodh.” She looked back at Heinrich for a moment, before starting, and ruefully saying, “I’ll keep on reading.”
Now, as to what the Crystal is. As I’m sure you guessed what it is, roughly, but it is a mana crystal lens. But this crystal lens is special. Remember KiCom? Well, apparently they hired the terrorists to try and steal mana crystal blueprints from Aliask; something about KiCom being afraid that the government would find Aliask more appealing than them. But enough about KiCom. This crystal actually came from Aliask; apparently, their planetary rep was so thankful that he managed to procure this special crystal for me. One of Andraeste’s crystals that was supercharged with lightning, and overloaded with mana, before they decided to drain it. It’s fantastically attuned to Life. Unfortunately, I’m not in Life school- you know I’m in Solar. However, you’re not. And this mana-lens just so happens to do Life spells extremely well.
Keep in mind, be a tad bit careful with this crystal. While it’s not dangerous, per se, from what the rep told me, and from what me, Elliath, and Aodh have experienced, this crystal had a tendency to cause various biological processes to speed up. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to shave, or cut my nails. However, I do believe it follows a sort of order: First, it attempts to heal any cuts and other injuries to a normal system. We quickly learned that we had to keep it away from Aodh-
At that, Asteri broke off and grimaced. “Sorry, sorry.”
-and the few cuts I got while machining this thing quickly healed. It then continues down the line to already-performing processes. A note I found says that Aliask tested it on a drunken individual, and their liver broke down the alcohol far faster than usual. After that? Hair and nails, in that order. But, despite this warning, I THINK the effects should be fairly mild? Between the fact we greatly reduced its original size and that it was machined and refined, I think that it shouldn’t be too annoying to handle.
I’m sorry I couldn’t do any more, my Refr, but I firmly believe your education should be your primary focus. Maybe you’ll get a scholarship, and use those funds to increase your DEF! And yes, I am making you a new duelling deck holder. This kind of thing takes time, though; putting lots of love and all that.
I love you, tell that archduke that, while I am grateful for him taking you in, that he better be treating you well- Asteri giggled at that- and stay safe and well.
Sincerely,
Dylon
Asteri put the piece of paper down and put the crystal up to her face. “I can’t believe daddy really got this for me. I can’t believe he’s paying for another college session, either!” At that, she beamed, before turning thoughtful. “However, I am going to have to start trying to upgrade my DEF caster now; I can’t simply insert this into my old one.” She shoots her bracer around. “No, I don’t think it’d be good at all to have only one thing good while everything else is subpar. I need to make sure the circuitry is fine, maybe expand the memory banks, upgrade the energy capacity…” The fox girl’s voice fell to a mutter as she started considering all the various things she needed to improve in order to have her DEF match the beautiful mana-lens.
“I mean I can just get you hooked up with one. I could even get you a mil-spec one like what the royal armed forces use. Consider it a gift for something else I was actually hoping to ask you. Would you consider signing on as one of my guards, and operatives?” He offered this with a smile, half tempted to offer it as a gift as a boyfriend, but figured he’d wait from saying such things. Heinrich actually wasn’t quite sure how they both labeled their relationship, but it felt like something too soon to ask just yet.
“Would you really!?” Asteri squealed at Heinrich as she, yet again, tackled him onto the couch, the mana lens on her chest getting stuck between her ample cleavage. Blinking, she reached inside, pulled it out, and set it on the table, looking back at Heinrich. “Of course I’ll join!” She made as if to hug Heinrich again, but suddenly paused as her breath hitched a bit, face flushing suddenly. Before Heinrich could ask what happened, Asteri flung herself at him again, kissing him hungrily.
However, there was a distinct wetness in her top, and Asteri was visibly rubbing herself against Heinrich, her moans rather needy.
The prince eeped in surprise at the sudden tackle, and bought of heat she went into. He couldn’t get a word out as she was deep into tasting him, his tongue a little more than willing to play back with her’s. Heinrich wasn’t going to question this at the moment, as he simply wrapped his arms around her, and turned to let her rest against the couch a bit. “Your chest is all wet, are you okay?”, he finally asked as they broke for air.
Her top was practically leaking, and when he looked at what soaked through, a white liquid. He didn’t need to ask what it was, but his baffled mind still thought “is that milk?”. Was it the crystal that had done this, as odd as it sounded, that was the only reason he could think of why she was lactating like a mother after birth.
Asteri didn’t respond to the question at first, as she groaned as she struggled to pull off her top. “C-can you help me take this off?” Continuing struggling, panting heavily, Asteri muttered to herself, “M-maybe I shouldn’t have had that milkshake…” Giving up on trying to get her top to fit over her bloated breasts, she let it go and looked at Heinrich. “B-belmes? I-I, uh, need to unload.” She held his gaze, though her face was getting increasingly more flushed as the flow steadily became stronger. “H-help?”
“Oh um, do you have a pump, or do I need to do it by hand? A-a-actually we better do this in the k-kitchen!”Heinrich stumbled vocally after the shock of Asteri trying to whip out her breasts to no avail. That being said, she seemed to really need help getting her top off, so the prince was quick to grab it by the hem. He pulled up, sliding it as far as it would go up, even slipping his arm in under to tug on the front to stretch it a bit if needed.
Asteri moaned in relief as the weight of her breasts were relieved, if only temporarily. But that could only last for so long. With a mighty pop, Asteri’s shirt broke free from her body, and Asteri promptly topped onto Heinrich again. “L-let’s go in the k-k-kitchen. C-C’mon.” Asteri tried to stand.
Tried to.
Her legs wouldn’t listen, however, as she let loose yet another moan, milk pooling on the floor around her. “I-I think it’s too late for- ah~!- a p-pump.” She looked at Heinrich again, her flushed face drooling slightly at the infuriating feeling in her chest. She needed the pressure released. “Y-you need to m-milk me.” Commence rubbing again, though her pants were also substantially wetter this time. But each rub sent a white stream rushing out of her breasts, though guessing from Asteri’s frustrated groans, it wasn’t enough.
There wasn’t any way around this it seemed, and as slightly awkward as it was, was definitely a big turn on. With a palm up gesturing of the hand, his fingers spread, and were suddenly tightened. The floor vibrated everfaintly as Asteri would feel far lighter then before, her feet actually starting to lose contact with the floor.
Heinrich was quick to get up and scoop the woman up, in a way to let her straddle him at the waist, as he took a dripping nipple in mouth. Giving a firm suck on it, he carried her off to the kitchen, before flipping open a couple cabinets. Grabbing a funnel and jug, Heinrich sat them down, before helping her adjust to sitting sideways in his lap.
“Figured it best to not let all this go to waste dear.~”, he said after licking his lips of her milky goodness. Setting the jug with funnel down, and bracing it between his legs, his other hand began to squeeze and milk her other breast, squirting streams into it. His lips and tongue returned to the nip he had already been drinking from, while his off hand moved down to flip her skirt up.
He hummed from the taste, as his hand slipped down her panties with her own hand, and began to rub at her sex with her.
Asteri yipped a bit at the suddenness of it all. The change in gravity. Belmes’ carry. His mouth on her oh so sensitive nipple. It wouldn’t have been lying to say she screamed a bit at the sensation. But eventually, as Heinrich began settling down, Asteri was reduced to moans as the man settled into a steady rhythm. One of her hands reached behind Belmes’ head, and proceeded to cup it and keep it firmly in place. The other began trying to unzip his pants.
Heinrich’s efforts were not in vain. Asteri’s breasts had been building up over the course of the day, and they had a strange burst in production in a very short time. So Asteri had plenty of milk to give- plenty.
“I- ah~AH~!- don’t stop, B-belmes. Th-this feels so good. S-so much better than my pumps. I- ah~!” Asteri was in absolute bliss, her tails joining in her firm hand as they wrapped around Heinrich to form a cocoon around the two of them, her lowered hand finally freeing his stiff member, and promptly servicing it.
The bottle was actually filling up rather quickly, soon to have a full bottle that they could store in the fridge for later. Maybe they could use it to make more milkshakes even, as an ironic, yet romantically odd way of commemorating this intimate moment. At least that was the horny yet wholesome thought that crossed the prince’s mind at the moment.
He sucked a bit harder, tongue lapping around the edge of her gushing peak, wiggling and teasing it to excite even more milk out. His hand working downstairs, pulled her panties further down her legs, giving more room to work with. He made sure to switch between rubbing her clit firmly, and sliding two fingers in deep. With a pop, he let go of her nipple, tongue still teasing the nip where she could see. “I’m glad you like, it tastes good, and I really like your breasts.~’, he managed to say in between licks, before going back down on her milk laden breast in full again.
His off hand was still milking her other breast like an utter, the stream it gave on each squeeze, still very thick and strong. He moaned, vibrating his tongue and mouth on her breast, as he felt her stroking his erection.
Asteri giggled at Heinrich’s compliments, which only caused her to resume rubbing against him. Though, she managed to keep enough sense about her to say, “N-normally, there i-isn’t this much, even when I do overdo it on the milk intake..” She eyed the milk bottle, as milk began to fill the funnel without draining. Though, Heinrich’s mouth was rather insistent~!
As well as his fingers, as Asteri moaned and arched her back, clenching her hands, which invariably forced Heinrich’s head into her breasts. She began humping Heinrich’s fingers as she tried bouncing up and down on his fingers, only to pull it out before Asteri could get into a rhythm, to which she expressed her displeasure via a groan.
Her hand busy with his member sped up as Asteri began to pant. And the bottle started to overflow. In her normal mindset, she would be wondering what made her produce so much. But she wasn’t thinking normally now. She was full, and she wanted to be drained. Her movements began to quicken in tempo.
His hand had left to use gravitas to pull yet another bottle down from the open cupboard. Using it more to move the funnel and it’s load, then swap bottles, the process resumed. At this rate, he thought they may need a few bottles more, even as his hand returned to her pussy. This time, he started to use three fingers, the middle rubbing the clit as the other two fingered her deep.
He had lost count of just how much milk he had consumed, the only gauge being the bottle now full. Heinrich was rather glad to be lucky, as to not be lactose intolerant, otherwise this wouldn’t be nearly as sexy as it was. His lips eased up, kissing her areola, before giving a sucking nip again. “We won’t be lacking for dairy any time soon.~”, he teased with his short break, moaning a bit as she stroked him harder.
The prince was biting his lip as a load was coming, knowing there was about to be a lot more white than just her milk around. Holding back his groan until her hand worked him hard enough to pop the cork, and his cum to come splurting out with a gasp of relief.
Asteri gasped as Belmes came. She rode his erect fingers a bit longer, essentially ramming her folds onto his fingers at this point, until she stiffened, and let loose another cry as she came. Milk came bursting out, and Heinrich’s fingers were soaked as Asteri came. As Asteri slumped against Heinrich, she smiled as she idly stroked his hair. But then she noticed down below.
“Awwww. I missed it.” Before Heinrich could even ask what she meant, Asteri began licking his cock. She didn’t linger long, however, as she was in a much less aroused mood than she was before.
...It did taste good, though.
Asteri came back up rather quickly, chuckling as she nuzzled Heinrich, asking him while poking his stomach, “Are you full now?” She heaved herself off of him shakily, leaning against the counter for support for a moment, her panties falling to the ground as her legs shook. But she stabilized soon enough, turning around to face Heinrich topless. “We have a washing machine, riiight~?”
“Yes, there’s a laundry room in the basement next to the wine cellar room.”, Heinrich replied, eyes not able to help but linger on her now mostly bare form standing over him. Why was his luck so high, that he was surrounded by hot, constantly naked women. Getting up himself, cock still hanging out of his pants, forgotten in his ecstasy addled mind. He stepped around the bottles, and her panties, before hugging her with another kiss. “I love you.”, he said softly as he did so.
Asteri chuckled at Heinrich’s statement and hug, returning it in equal zeal. “Love you too, Belmes. Stay adorkable.” She eventually slipped out of the embrace, however, dancing forward to grab her panties, before skipping back to the stairs, one of her tails brushing his exposed penis, giving him a playful smile as she continued on, “Let’s get everything cleaned up, so we can finish putting up all the stuff in the truck up.”
After saying that, Asteri pattered down the stairs to the basement, intent on her task of making sure her clothes were clean.
In all honesty, it was as hot to look at her, as it was to watch her leave with how she was dressed. Looking down after realizing what her tail had teased, Heinrich blushed as he put his long john back in the brig. Clearing his throat as if to make it less awkward to anyone else, he collected both of the two full milk bottles, before putting them away in the already stocked fridge.
Afterwards, while Asteri was downstairs getting her laundry done, the prince was content to simply handle box unloading. With his magic, it wasn’t too difficult, simply doing it in stages. Backing the truck up to have the bay face the door, then moving the boxes to the ledge, then to the next floor, and finally to the third floor living room. He was sadly, a little underestimating on the mana drain though, panting as he came up the third floor stairs and flopping on the couch.
“Awwww.” A weight fell on Heinrich’s head. “Did you push yourself too hard?” Yes, Asteri had put her chest on Heinrich’s head. Asteri giggled for a bit, before she languidly slid over the couch, sitting next to Heinrich. She was naked. Seeing his confused glance, she explained, “It’ll take the dryer a bit to dry the clothes. Now, c’mere!” The foxgirl grabbed Belmes’ head, and guided it to her lap, stroking his hair as he laid on her thighs; her tails performed their duty well, moving to cover Heinrich’s body in a blanket.
Asteri looked down on Belmes fondly as she asked, “So, Belmes. Which classes d’you suggest I take at Obsidian University? I’m in the Life school, focused on Vitae.” Her nose also crinkled. “Also, we need to wash and dry your clothes. Look at the mess you have on them. I can only clean so much by myself, you know!”
“As much as I would love to strip for you, I really like this spot, so warm. Just being against you right now in general feels great, especially after that intimate moment.” Heinrich sounded rather pleased, relaxed deeply even, as he spoke of being with her like they had been today. He had meant it, what he had said in the kitchen to her, so he treasured these moments.
“Nursing definitely, then perhaps a full proper doctorate in medicine. Have you done your general studies already?”, he finally asked her after replying to her question. The prince was already pulling up a class listing in his head, and a class planner for submission after their talk.
“You DO realize I finished college already, riiight~?” Asteri chuckled at Heinrich’s question. “Andraeste has a college of its own, and it's actually pretty advanced and specialized in the Life school. The problem is, as you’ve probably heard from daddy’s note, is that Andraeste was TOO focused on life. They focused on the cutting edge, the research aspects of it, not any of the practical ones. So, yeah. I have a five year degree from Andraeste College, in Artificial Vitae Growth.” Seeing his confused look, she elaborated. “Basically, my degree focused on things such as manipulating the genes of animals, researching with Electros to create realistic prosthetics, stuff like that. I think there was even an elective course to try and experiment with dead bodies!” Asteri wrinkled her nose. “That got shut down quickly, though.”
Asteri couldn’t help but sigh for a bit. “I, uh, mainly chose that because I thought I could learn how to do something to help my brother. He has this rare…” Was it rare? Or unique? Or was it unique because he was still alive, and he would soon become a case of a casualty of a rare affliction? ...Asteri didn’t want to think about that. “...thing going on with him, so I thought maybe if I could figure out how to redirect the flow of his natural life away from his curse, then we could at least prevent inevitable death. ...Unfortunately, not.” Asteri was quiet for a moment. “And then Aodh up and decides he wants to be a Jaeger.” Asteri sighed gustily. “I suppose I can’t fault him for deciding to do that, though.” All the while, Asteri kept on stroking Heinrich’s hair idly, kicking her feet back and forth.
“Then you take the advanced royal course in vitae specialist casting, that we only give our most elite. You take the medical courses, and you save your brother.” Her delicate hand, would be taken in his with a slight squeeze in reassurance, as he looked up to her with hopeful eyes. Heinrich gave her the same warm smile as he had times before, “We will be there with you, to do all we can to help him. You’re part of this family now, and therefore so is he. We take care of our own.”
Asteri smiled at Heinrich. She continued rubbing his hair for a moment, before grabbing his head with both of her hands, lifting his head up, and kissing him soundly for a good long minute. When she stopped, she buried his head between her chest for a moment, rocking him this way and that, nuzzling herself in his hair this way and that. When she raised her head out of his scraggled mess, her eyes were slightly puffy, but Asteri just continued smiling at Heinrich.
“C’mon. Let’s get your clothes clean, then let’s get this moving stuff finished. I think I can get my hacky sack, or we can finally do our foretold match in Arcana, at least until your clothes finish drying. Then we can head to the University and get everything finalized.”
He just kissed her chest as he was pressed into it, tender in show of how much he cared, before he got up. Stretching with a few pops from the exertion, mana gradually being drawn back into his body as well as what it could naturally replace, Heinrich offered her a hand up before stripping. They were collected into a neat pile before scooping them up, “I’ll run these downstairs then, and meet you back here to move those to the bedroom. Just sit back and relax until I do ‘k.”
“Also you know, snuggles are always an option too. I have grown to quite enjoy laying about with you.”, the prince added as he was walking off to do the laundry, teasing as he smiled at her with a wink. Quickly making his way down, Heinrich was quick about starting the process, and tossing things into the second dryer. It was a bit odd walking around home nude, his john flapping between his legs, actually kinda annoying now that he thought about it. But he’d get used to that given how the girls were, the smile still on his face as he walked back in later.
About an hour and a half later, Asteri popped out of the laundry room, throwing Heinrich’s clothes at him, before she stepped out, showing she had put her own back on. “C’mooon, noisypants. Or should I say pantless?” She smirked at him. “Let’s get ready to head to the university. I have the mana-lens safely inside the box.” Earlier on, when Asteri confessed to Belmes as to her confusion at the sheer volume of milk, they had managed to puzzle it out to a combination of the milkshake and the mana-lens. Dylon wasn’t lying when he said the mana-crystal had some acceleration of biological processes!
As Asteri skipped back to the truck, she called out to Heinrich through the door she left open, “Sooo, where exactly is the admissions office in Obsidian University?” She leaned against the truck side, waiting for Heinrich to finish getting ready, resuming her previous humming, her tails flicking this way and that.
Heinrich came walking out dressed in the same outfit again, not having been willing to dig through his freshly unpacked wardrobe for something new. “Main administration office of the university. Also we need to take that truck back first, and get my jeep I left.”, he answered simply as he did, before climbing back into the cab as she did. The prince started the truck, but paused as he registered something she said, “It wasn’t that loud was it?!”
The man had been naked around her for hours now, and they had done a kinky in the kitchen. Yet the mention of him being noisy as he slapped around, suddenly made him blush at the suggestion. “I didn’t even know you could hear me- Oh right fox ears.”
Asteri simply smiled and twitched her ears. As the two entered the truck and began driving back towards the city, Asteri quietly began singing along to the radio as she rocked her head this way and that. Shortly after they entered the city, however, Asteri lowered the volume on the radio, and rested her elbows on the dashboard console, supporting her head as she looked at Heinrich. “Sooo. How’re you planning on surprising Gale? She’s gonna be a hard one to pull the wool over.” As the duo stopped at a red light, Asteri kept her eyes on Heinrich, only removing one of her supporting arms to draw circles on the dashboard. “I suppose we could try labelling it as… hummmmm….” Asteri scrunched up her nose in thought.
A stray thought entered her head. Yeeeep. Belmes is so cute when he’s trying to concentrate. ...He’s cute in general. But cuter than normal.
Returning a bit to reality, she sat back up a bit, and leaned on Heinrich’s shoulder. Well. Lightly. No need to make it hard for him to drive. She also asked, almost idly: “Also, do I need to sign up for any elective classes?”
“Won’t know until we get there. I might be a professor, but I’m not usually the one who figures class lists out.” The car ride was as long back as it was the first time, that looming view though, all the more immense as they came up to the city. The daze in thought made him think about the really vague questions she had, the idle comment of “Probably as an early marriage maybe?” as they entered the main gates.
Asteri made a small “Pffft.” to Heinrich's proposal. “You make marriage proposals secret as well, silly. As soon as you let her know it’s for a marriage proposal, she’s gonna be suspicious.” Asteri drummed the dashboard in front of her. “Maybe tell her you have to meet someone important-” At that, Asteri broke off, giggling as she pointed to herself- “And that you want her to come as backup?”
As the truck pulled into the parking spot, Asteri jumped out, looking at the rental service’s building. “Huh. Johnson’s Rental Storage Carriers. ...Gotta love people who rent out different things just for bulk storage transportation.” She looked at Belmes. “I guess you gotta go pay for the rent on the truck now?” She skipped over to his side, wrapping her arms around his left arm, and hugging it close to her body, practically enveloping said arm in her generous bosom.
Heinrich stepped down from the cab, ready to be rid of the large unneeded vehicle. “Well two things, these rentals are free as long as you leave your vehicle as collateral. Also, we have plans to marry already, I’m just…. Trying to get something done first, before I feel like I would be her Drale properly.” Something sounded almost wistful in how he said that, a small thoughtful smile on his face as Heinrich thought of the plan still going in motion after so many years already.
“I can always just say that there is an urgent matter that I need to bring her along for, and say we’re visiting the home of an important person. Then reveal it to her as we walk in, that she is the person.” He added with a chuckle before walking in and retrieving his keys from the kiosk.
Coming back out, he waved Asteri to follow him as he led her to a jeep. It wasn’t exactly a new model, but it was definitely refurbished well, modified a touch, and had seen some use. The man smiled fondly at it, “As much as showing up in a sport to school would be hilarious. I still prefer the old tried and true.”
Asteri tilted her head at Heinrich’s wistful look, but before she could ask, he continued on. She smiled at his statement, and as she climbed into the jeep, she also remarked, “Mmmhm. Plus, A sports car is TINY.” At that, she rolled the seat back as far as she could, and languidly stretched out her legs against the dashboard, stretching out her hands above her head as she took the time to stretch.
“Hehehe~ This jeep almost feels like what Mama took me and Aodh out in when we went to the Camelot Mountain Ski Lodge on Andraeste. It was one of the very few big mountains on Andraeste, and it was always fun to visit. Though, I could never get the snowboard down like Aodh could… I could do the skis and ice skate rink very well, though! In fact, I remember the time….”
Wait.
Asteri sat up suddenly, looking at Heinrich as he started the jeep. “YOU AND GALE ARE GETTING MARRIED!?”
It was his turn to look confused for once now, “Um yeah, I’ve known her since I was 15, and we’ve been together since I was 18. We’ve talked about it and made plans, I just want to get something done first as I said before.” Heinrich had kinda figured that their relationship had made it obvious, on top of having lived together for quite some time. “Seems like a normal enough kind of step forward doesn’t it?”
“B-but… you’re getting married!?” Asteri was absolutely floored by the announcement. She sat there for a moment, stunned, before she squealed and threw herself at Heinrich to hug him. “Yaaay! Congratulations! Where’s the wedding gonna take place? Can I join in on the fun? Do you have a honeymoon planned? Who all is coming to the wedding? Maybe this Zeke? I bet he’d love to see you get married! Is Gale’s family coming? It’d be so cool to meet even more Vaigarins! Luna and Uledor were fun to talk to!” Asteri jabbered on and on as she continued nuzzling Heinrich.
“I don’t imagine it will be a massive ceremony, but it will likely just be a small gathering at home. Technically it would be a double wedding of sorts, since it would by default marry me to her existing bond mate Sute.” Heinrich said this in idle thought as he answered, “Ideally I’d like to do them all at once, which should be long enough for us too I would think. Be a nice family all together, me, you, Sute, and Gale all together much like we are now really.”
Heinrich’s explanation of his plans made Asteri giggle. “Okay, Mr. I-got-this-in-the-bag. I can handle only so much cuteness, y’know.” She raised her head and kissed his cheek. “If it would make you happy, I’d be happy to be that third person you’d have to kiss on that stage.” Seeing his startled glance, she elaborated. “You’re a lot more fun than anyone else, y’know that, riiight? Plus, so is Gale, and I wanna meet this Sute!” She waved her hands around. “And, y’know. Out of all the other people I’ve had fun with….” Was it four? Five? Asteri internally shrugged. “...You’re the only one I’ve met so far that’s given me the feeling you’ll be fun for a loooooooong time.”
Of course, Heinrich probably wouldn’t understand what exactly she was talking about. But Asteri just knew, out of the two, two and a half, months of knowing Belmes, and Gale, that they would be… well. There? Asteri twitched her head. She knew Professor Kronus probably would have had some answers, but that was Aodh’s kind of show, not hers. But, Asteri gave it her best shot.
“You’re cute. Especially when you’re trying to be gentlemanly. You're decent- admittedly, not great-” She did NOT want to admit that he beat her a couple of times in Arcana- “but you do well enough in Arcana. You’re willing to make cute little duo outfits for cosplay with me, even if we haven’t been to one yet. You’ve gotten a house that accounts for me, for Freya’s sake!”
Asteri scrunched up her nose. “You were willing to take me off Andraeste, even when you found out that Eius had sent people to kidnap me, even when you knew there was likely a terrorist organization after me. You’ve promised to help my brother, even despite the fact that pretty much every other medical institution has given up on him, you’re helping pay for a new DEF caster, you’re helping me with school…. And none of that is even factoring in Gale!”
Asteri shrugged. “What’s a girl gonna do, then?”
The look he gave was pure surprise, because that was the answer he sure as hells was not expecting. “So uh, I guess that means, we’re officially dating then?” Heinrich asked confused, even though it seemed like that would be the obvious assumption. He at least was managing not to stutter from shock, and thankful they hadn’t even pulled out of the lot yet. “Or I guess technically betrothed if that’s the case?”
First it was milking her in the kitchen, playing with her while nude, moving in together, then an outright aggreeance to marriage when he hadn’t planned on officially asking just yet.To say he was so mind boggling mind blown, was an understatement of massive proportions.
Asteri cocked her head at him. “Sure? I mean, you haven’t actually officially asked me, sooooo….” Nevermind that she flat out said that she would marry him on the spot if he asked. He was still confused. Poor, cute, dense Belmes. Asteri sighed. “Look. I think I have a knack for this sort of thing. I WAS, after all, designed to be a companion. There was a slight, rare twinge of bitterness in that comment as she pointed to the nearly invisible seams that ran above and below her eyes. “Granted, I was rescued from my ORIGINAL intent, but as it stands, you think I would be able to know who to stay with.” She crossed her hands over her chest. “Seriously. Stop acting so surprised. If you want me to be engaged, I’ll accept.” ...Maybe she shouldn’t be so snappy now. But she hated bringing up the fact that she was kind of meant to be a toy. Asteri turned her head to face outside. Unfortunately, there was no other way around it to explain to Heinrich that she knew.
“You’d fit in quite well then, most of the Pine family that are around in large numbers are combat clones. Manufactured for a purpose like you were, but I see you not as a doll. If they manufactured you for a purpose, you came out as far more than that. It’s why I love you so much. Because of who you are, Asteri, not what you were made in mind for.”
This was the cue to get going, not wanting for anyone to be around as she poured out such private details, a stray hand finding her yet again to offer reassurance. He squeezed her hand gently, “You’ll make a wonderful wife, for Gale and Sutes as well. You’ve already made me happy, and I love every moment I’ve gotten to spend with you since that day on Andraeste when we met.”
Asteri kept her face at the window, though one of her tails showed her approval by basically wrapping itself around Heinrich’s shoulders. She stayed that way for a while as Heinrich drove the jeep out of the parking lot, and through the streets of Obsidian City. Finally, as Heinrich started pulling forward after a light changed to green, Asteri quietly said, “Heinrich? Thanks. For everything.” A moment later, and she began humming a slow song quietly. We’re almost at the University, it looks like. ...Unless parking is bad. Then again, Belmes was a professor.
That in fact was a very handy perk, not needing to press anything as her tails told him all he needed to know. He had a parking spot in the faculty parking lot, giving them free parking access near the administration wing of the university. It wasn’t much different looking from either the outside, or inside in all honesty, the halls rather well furnished. It afterall, was the nation’s center of learning, where their best and brightest were trained with access to the full base of knowledge the NDC had accumulated to date.
Taking Asteri inside, holding her hand, he led her to the offices of those who put together review processes, as well as coming up with needed courses that the potential student may require if accepted. But to be fair, the school rarely turned away applicants without special reason to. “Yes, I’m here to enroll this woman in classes, preferably anything medical that would be required of a medic, or healer mage. I’ve already prepared a signup sheet with all the info, and her previous school records.”, Heinrich offered to the person behind the desk as they simply skipped the receptionist all together.
“Right, I know your handiwork with paperwork Mr. Oaklen, so I know it’s all in order. I just need the young lady to sign the sheet, and confirm the deposit for the course curriculum she’ll possibly be assigned for her chosen field of study. Then it is just waiting for confirmation of acceptance by the headmaster, which knowing his efficiency, Mr. Pine should have word back soon within an hour at the most.” The clerk simply took all of it in stride, already speed typing away at her terminal as various sets of files were flipped through and cherry picked as she spoke.
“Uhm, Belmes?” Asteri asked a bit hesitantly. “I think we need to be a bit more specific than that.” Asteri held the sheet of paper, and told the nurse: “I think I need to start off with Professional Concepts in Nursing, uh, NUR 301? I think I’ll refer to them by their number for now. A-anyways, I think I’ll start with NUR 301, as well as the Health Asse- er, NUR 303 and NUR 304. As you can already see, I took Clinical Informatics and Clinical Calculations in R&D, so that should also cover for the Nursing equivalent? And I think NUR 310 and NUR 321 should finish it off?”
“I don’t think you need to worry about the Health Assessment; you took Gene Therapy Recovery; that should classify well enough. Also, you took Experimental Pharmacology, so I think you don’t need to worry about 321.” The clerk gave her an apologetic grin. “Just trying to keep the load down. If you took all of those, it would be around 15 credit hours, with 225 Clinical hours.”
Asteri thought for a moment. “I don’t think I want to stick any gene-altering drugs in Bel- er, Heinrich. So, I think it may be a good idea to take 321?” The cleric aqceusciesed to that, nodding in agreement. After some more moments of typing, the clerk looked up at Asteri and said, “So, you want to take Professional Concepts, Applied Pathophysiology, Professional Practice in Nursing, and Pharmacology in Nursing, for a total of twelve credit hours and 180 clinical hours?” Asteri blinked and looked at Heinrich for a moment, blushing slightly. “D-d’you think you could also sign me up in Pre-Modern History, uh, HY 243?”
“Sure, I can do that! So fifteen credit hours?” Asteri nodded. “Great, that leaves you on track for Nursing Care for Adults, Nursing Care of the Critically Ill Adult, Professional Practice in Nursing II, and the associated seminar as well for the next semester, for a total of 15 credit hours and 225 clinical hours. And I see you were in.. an ROTC program at Andraeste?”
Asteri nodded at that. “Great, so you have some experience with injuries, at the very least?” Another nod. “I can sign you up for a couple of four week electives, a surgery/IT internship, and then a Medicinal internship. You’ll probably start with the Medicinal internship the first four weeks of the academic break, and the surgery one right after.”
Asteri nodded, and the clerk waved them off as she moved away with the necessary files, datapad covering the papers in her arm. The pair only had to wait twenty five minutes or so before she returned, smiling. “You’re accepted, Ms. Renelon! Congratulations, we’re excited to see you next semester! You’ll receive your uniform in the mail tomorrow, and you should keep in mind…”
Shortly afterwards, Asteri and Heinrich exited the office, Asteri clutching a bundle of papers and brochures in her hands. A moment of walking later, and she nervously giggled to Heinrich, “I suppose I won’t be a Ms. for much longer.” Upon making it into the parking lot, Asteri turned to face Heinrich. “Soooooo…. What next?”
“Well we can either go home and just do whatever until tomorrow, or we can go thank my uncle for getting your stuff processed through so quickly. I have a feeling he nudged the paperwork just a tad to get you into my specific history classes.” Heinrich said with a grin, finding that having gone as smoothly as he had expected, but not sure why they had walked back outside. They could have talked about what to do next there, but also he had wanted to mention visiting his uncle sooner, and was surprised she hadn’t suggested it given his mention of who the headmaster was.
“Wait, your uncle is the headmaster? Well, why didn’t you say so earlier!?” At that, Asteri grabbed Heinrich’s arms, and promptly dragged him back inside. “I was so focused on classes, that it completely went over my head. Asteri turned to face Heinrich and gave him a pout. “Well? C’mon, I’m sure he’s a busy person; the sooner we get there, the more time we have to try and say hello to him!”
“I mean I figured the clerk saying “Mr. Pine”, would have tipped that off.”, the prince giggled as he was pulled away suddenly by Asteri, dragged back into the administrative wing. When she looked confused at where to go from here, it was his turn to take her by the hand again. “Top level.”, was all Heinrich said as he took her to the elevator and they rode it up. He had ignored the surprise look of the clerk as they came back in already.
He also didn’t care about the grinning of the few students around at this time of day, a number of them he recognized from his own classes. He only offered a grin, not thinking of the rumors that would go around as they saw him holding some woman’s hand.
Asteri giggled as Heinrich started pulling her towards the place. Well. Turnabout is fair play. She waved a bit at the students she passed by, looking at the various classrooms and, well, rooms in general as she passed by them. Eventually, though, they made it to the elevator. ...Though, their run through the University had given her ideas.
As soon as the doors closed, Asteri turned around, grabbed Heinrich’s head, and kissed him. Deeply. She panted a bit as she tried wrapping her tongue around his for a moment, before she suddenly let go, twitched her ears, and said, “That run through the college was quite the mood setter! You’re gonna have to gimme the tour through the college.” Then the elevator dinged as they reached their destination, and the doors opened.
“You make it sound like I’d need to find a secluded room afterwards when you put it like that.”, he chuckled as they left the elevator and walked into what was an even nicer floor. It looked like an executive office space, which wasn’t far from the truth, as the board worked up here. Most of the offices were empty however, including the small waiting area. Heinrich took them to the very back of this floor, where an office with a large, full windowed view had been seen from outside.
Knocking on the door as he grinned at her, he popped the door open and curtly gestured Asteri in first. Inside was a really nice office with well done furnishings, but an odd mix of military and woodsy to the decorations. The man sitting behind the desk was almost just as odd of a mix in features. His hair was a mix of white and black, his eyes being one red, and one blue. The goatee on his face framed his grin, as he saw Asteri accompanied by Heinrich come in.
“Yo, Heinrich, causing mischief after school hours again? Haven’t had a chance to come see you since the last rave, think you can come to Nytemare’s next gig?” Came the man's voice, cheery yet casual. “Who’s the lady friend? I’m Talos by the way, headmaster, nice to meet ya. Must be the Asteri girl I just signed off for.”
Asteri first went to salute, but stopped and blinked at the man’s very… hipster? Casual? Tone. She could swear she could feel sweat coming down from her head at how very hard he was using slang. It was almost as if he was cosplaying for a meme, or something like that.
But she quickly forgot about that as he began actually talking to her, and not referencing some sort of party. “Helllooo~! Yes, you’re right, I’m Asteri Renelon!” At that, she kicked up a leg behind her, and waved with the opposite arm. She held that pose for a moment, before she giggled slightly apprehensively, leaning over one of the chairs meant for guests. “Belm- er, Heinrich was very insistent that we go see you, and, well, who am I to refuse him?” At that, she held a hand up to her mouth and giggled in it.
“Says the girl who dragged me through the parking lot. Didn’t realize my charisma was quite that strong.”, Heinrich said with a good laugh, patting her on the shoulder when she seemed nervous at what his uncle said.
“He may be a smart man, but I never knew he was quite the charmer with the ladies. Victor is still rather surprised from when he saw Gale on your arm at the last event. Then I heard one of our recent Senti visitors is now shacking up with you. Hein, you adding Ms. Renelon here too? You know Kolorsha is never not gonna let me hear the end of it of how much this will amuse her.” Talos took to casually leaning on his hand with a cheeky grin.
Asteri pouted a bit at Heinrich’s shoulder pat. She would have preferred a headpat. That would have felt- Wait. Mr. Pine probably didn’t want to see her moaning as Heinrich petted her head. ...Shame.
But upon hearing Mr. Pine’s words, Asteri glanced at Heinrich. Kolorsha? She mouthed at him. ...Of course, she didn’t know if he knew mouthed words. He should, based on how much they’ve kissed. But anyways. “Beeellmmmmes, what else did you want me to do? Let you carry me?” ...That would actually be nice. Depending on what he said, of course.
But at least Asteri didn’t forget her manners. Question mark? “Oh, yes, Gale! Gale is fun! It’s kinda tough to explain to her type matchups in Daniaom, though; she doesn’t seem to see how Fey types can beat Wyrm types. Of course, we all know Psionic is superior, but noooo, everyone wants to point out that Umbral is immune to Psionic powers.” At that, Asteri became quiet, muttering to herself. “B-But anyways! Gale is fun. REALLY fun. You should see when me, Belmes, and Gale get together. And I’m personally excited to see this Senti! The more, the merrier!”
Was she babbling? She hoped she wasn’t.
