Cate tapped a finger on her chin. "Hm. Well, some of the methods those books mentioned did help a bit, but the biggest change, I'd say, is the fact we got specially crafted wires designed to hold all the potential qubits. Well, maybe 'Specially' crafted's not the right phrase, but y'know- the NDC's managed to make wires able to handle all the possible states. How they do that, I can only attribute to the fancy computer they have embedded into their spinal cords." The Aasimar shrugged. "I think Drake also mentioned bringing aboard a Q-tech specialist, but he said that'd take a bit- though he never gave a time schedule."

At that, Cate muttered a bit as the bacon sizzled behind her. "I guess he'll have this specialist ready when we get back to NDC or something." Brushing her white hair out of her face, Cate turned to Lysandra. "So, Lysandra, what was the Scrapper's colony like?"

Soap lifted a foot and gently kicked Cate on the shin. "Pay attention to your cooking while you talk." She pointed out, continuing to stir her stew. "As for the qubits and other q-tech, I ain't got shit about that myself. I don't even have a Geist installed. Didn't want to fuck around with some medical fields more than I've already had to in my life." Soap grumbled, not even wanting to think about the shit the first three weeks of training had involved. Especially with no rest between training, surgeries, and resuming training.

Lysandra just listened and sipped her drink with half lidded eyes as Cate prattled on about Qtech, Geists, and the NDC. She sniffed the burning bacon but chose to hold her peace while Cate rambled. When Soap kicked her she couldn't help but snicker a bit. "Oh they were probably what you were expecting. Unsanitary, oily, dank, cut throat, and overall a horrible place to be raised or raise kids. Learned all my tricks-of-the-trade there, and more that I won't explain. Not to mention I can hear that the turbine fans on the engines are out of alignment and likely causing decreases in your thrust output."

"Wha- OH!" Cate hurredly turned around to check the bacon- however, in her haste, the aasimar accidentally flung a poor salt shaker with her breasts, causing the container to go flying, spilling salt everywhere. Cursing, the Aasimar stumbled to the floor, trying to grab the shaker that was now rolling on the floor. Muttering to herself, Cate stood up, groaning, as she set the shaker back on the counter. "Annyways. Ignore that you just saw that."

Sighing, the white haired woman leaned back against the counter. "So, from what I understand, they're perilous worlds infested with scavs, raiders, and slavers who loosely organize themselves into guilds, and the more 'legal' ones have to fight off competitors for rights to scrap?" Raising an eyebrow, Cate pointed out to Lysandra: "I come from a city-world. Not quite a full on ecumenopolis, but the habitable ring was a pretty packed city. The best representation I have of a scav-world comes from movies and dramas. I've heard a couple of stories from others, yeah, but they played up the worst parts of it to make themselves sound tougher than they actually were."

At that, Cate snorted disdainfully. "Still needed my help to get locked doors open without a scene, or to access digital files. All they knew was to use a blowtorch and hammer to pry things loose." Cate suddenly blinked and raised a hand. "N-no offense, of course. Wh-what do they say? Present company excluded?"

"And this is why I was fine cooking a stew." Soap said, gloating a bit as she watched Cate struggling with the entire mess she was creating with her ponderous bust in the way. "As it is, scaving doesn't sound like it's any different if it's in a war zone or just a scrapyard that's larger than most." She said, stepping away from teh stew now that it was in a good spot to really cook long-term. "Maybe Drake can point me differently, but honestly, the trying to put up a brave, or strong face, seems almost like a universal thing a bunch of groups do." She continued, settling at one of the tables in the galley.

Mostly she leaned back and regarded the pair. In a strange sort of way, this was the two 'bonding'. GEtting to know each other really. She was just interjecting at this point with quips or snide comments. Which was a fun in and of itself.
